The shelter should not have let you adopt this cat. It is miserable at your house. And your own cat is miserable, also. Some cats, just want to be loners. Cats are not pack animals, like dogs. So, a lot of people only have one cat, and that makes the cat very happy. It's a shame if you are going to make these two cats live together for a YEAR! Find the new cat a new home now, or take it back to the shelter.

What can I do so our relationship can be like it was in the beginning?

We dated for 3 months.. It bothered me badly that he never asked me out and so I started a few fights just because I was being insecure about the possibility that he was using me. Well those fights pushed him back. We went on vacation and he was going to ask me out then but decided not to. We had a fight on the way back because I was mad at myself for this being my fault. We went on a break for a week and since then only saw each other once.. It has been 2 weeks since we came back from vacation and he's been busy with work. So in these past 2 weeks I've been acting distant (by responding to texts right away, or ignoring phone calls for about an hour) idk if this is helping, it doesn't seem like it is and it seems like when I was myself he was more into me. What do you think of Harnesses("leashes") for toddlers?

Everytime I have saw a kid on a leash I thought it looked a little ridiculous but now I have a 14 month old son who loves to run but will not hold my hand. He is not bad behaved at all (nor does he understand that he can't go wherever he wants) because he is so young. The other day I was trying to do my banking and a complete stranger was calling him over and he was trying his best to get away from me. I Broke my back when I was younger so it is really hard for me to carry him everywhere and constantly bend over. He hates being confined in a stroller he loves to be independant and walk by himself. I am thinking of getting one of those harnesses that are a stuffed animal backpack. My sister thinks people will judge me and think I am irresponsible. I am obviously going to be watching my son the entire time and it's not so I can be lazy, I just think he will feel better having a little more independance and it will keep him safe. I wouldn't use it all the time, but we are going to marine land and I know he won't want to be in a stroller the whole time so maybe that would be good to let him walk around a little bit. What do you guys think? Does it look bad or what? I usually don't care what people think but I just want others opnions on this. Why am I so insecure with our relationship?

My grandad has about 1-3 weeks left to live, need help dealing with this, any advice/personal stories?

hey everyone. my grandad has small cell lung cancer, and has had it for about a year and a half. now, in just a matter of like 2 weeks, he cant walk anymore, cant pee, so we had a catheter put in, has hospice, and gets a new symptom everyday. lately he is calling the sky home. he is confined to his chair and hospital bed. he is at home. my grandparents live with us. me and my mom are the only ones strong enough to be able to lift him up, because now he is complete dead weight. he cant support himself at all anymore, and cant walk, nothing. we have to pick him up and try to get him stable on his feet while still holding him up, just so he can use the bedside potty hospice gave us. lately he keeps telling us im tired i want to go home. and then he points up after we ask where is home and he points up and says thats home. and he's talking to people that have died a long time ago and having conversations with them, and telling us they are waiting for him to go home. he has at the most maybe 2 weeks. he gets worse everyday. he is my BESTFRIEND and the only man that has been stable in my whole life. He never got to see me drive, im thankful that he's here still for my 18th birthday, but we're losing him. my question is, has anybody else been through this like this? i dont need smart-*** answers like yes people have gone through this. this is the hardest thing ive been through in my life, and ive been through some really really hard times. i need advice on this, or any personal stories?

How can i lose weight if i cannot do cardio exercises?

i was on a weight loss regime and was working hard to shed 20 kg before my marriage in nov this year. I successfully lost 10 kg in 3 months and was happy with my progress.but last week i met a road accident and suffered multiple fractures in fibula.i was operated upon and now i m confined to bed for nxt 2 months. i m afraid all my hard work will be ruined, will gain my weight back and later on too it will b impossible to shed weight without cardio..is there any way out?? can anything b done..i desperately need to lose weight.plz help..

Potty Training while we work during the day, HELP!?

So obviously they say it's not healthy to leave your puppy inside it's crate for more than a few hours, but we would have to leave him in there at 7am, I can come home @ noon to let him out, and than back in again until 530ish or so. We tried today to put him in the crate, I came home @ noon, and he had peed & pooped inside. They saw dogs won't soil where they sleep...nobody met my puppy. He's 13 weeks. We tried last week to baby gate him into an area of the Kitchen, he made his messes on the kitchen floor. Are the areas too big, is this why he keeps going? I'm worried because we are gone for a long period of time during the day which is a better way to keep him confined, kitchen area or crate. How do we prevent him from going to the bathroom if we keep him in the kitchen w/a baby gate? Do we need to make a really small area? No blankets? No food/water? HELP!

What is the best way to help my cat?

My 5 month old cat over extended his leg a few days ago. (I just now got my husband to look and diagnose him tonight) Probibly from playing too rough with my 9 week old kitten or from jumping off the bed. (We used to have a mattress on the floor.) How do i stop my kitten sleeping in my bed?

I just got a new kitten my brother needed a good home for it so we met him fell in love and took him! hes the cutest thing he's only 6 weeks old but very clever hes managed to climb out of everything and is already using his litter box. How can anybody take seriously a party loaded with birthers?

Setting aside the whole budge debate, I think the real problem with Republicans and Tea Partiers is credibility. When a third to a quarter of your party truly believes the president is a foreigner and the rest of the party silently goes along with their ravings, it makes the party look stupid and immature from an outsider's perspective. They may score points with the fringe voters but over the long run they lose respect among independents and (not that they could look any lower) in the eyes of progressives. They can stand by and allow the kooks to make outrageous claims and it won't harm them today, but mark my words, the history books will take a dim view of their silence and they will look incredibly racist and backwards for not speaking up and demanding civility from their peers. Chopin isn't "out of the ordinary" or "lesser known," but you didn't mention him. You said you like piano music, so Chopin would be a great choice if you don't already have a lot of his music. He wrote hundreds of pieces, mostly for piano. Specifically, I would recommend the album "Arthur Rubinstein: The Chopin Collection." It doesn't include ALL of Chopin's piano pieces, but it does include a great deal of them and Rubinstein was a fantastic pianist. The only con is that it can be pretty expensive, but that's to be expected for a collection that includes 11 CDs. You could probably find it used on Amazon for quite a bit cheaper than retail.

Yes, I have had them lie to me. The worst thing was about cheating on me. Trust comes with actions. If someone is telling you one thing, but doing another, you can't trust them. Trust can't be given to someone, it has to be earned.

Is placing a computer in a desk hold a bad idea?

I'm considering buying a new computer case but it's actually too big to sit on top of my desk like my current one. There is a square hold towards the bottom of the desk that would accommodate it's size with about an inch or two of surrounding space to spare. The case will have 5 or 6 fans and the desk its self sits on carpet. I'm worried that the computer will just get filled with dust and get too hot because of it being so close to the floor and in a confined space. The computer is a medium range gaming pc and the reason I'm buying a new case is because the new GPU I'm buying (which has 3 fans its self and vapor cooling) doesn't fit in my current case. I can't think of any other way around this. Will this create a big problem?

Will a student loan cover the costs of an apartment, books, and tuition?

I've got enough saved from years because I'm a late student. I'm only half into my second year & nearly 30. Anyway, I should be able to handle tuition the rest of this year and next year. Next year's college is going to be $1,000 a class. Dorm rooms are $600/$700 a month. So considering that much money for a confined space, I'd rather have an apartment at the same price. But being nearly 30, I get a lot of crap about being part of the boomerang generation. I don't want to have to hold down two jobs to get an apartment again. Just one part time job, I figure for food- gas- and utilities. And I don't have collateral either. My focus is Forensic Science, Bachelors of Science, so I believe that may pay pretty well when I find a related job in that field. I could probably pay it all back eventually.

How do I train my two yr old Chihuahua to get along with other dogs?

I just adoped a two year old pug/Chihuhua mix. He's a sweetheart, and obeys me with almost everything, except for other dogs! The other day, he bolted around my house and attacked my neighbors pitbull! We have dogs that live on both sides of us and evertime I let him out to go potty, he runs to either fence and starts going nuts for the dogs. The other dogs are very well behaved and my dog really gets to them. Now my neighbors are irritated with me and if the pitbull wasn't on a chain, this dog would have been dead. That still didn't stop him. Now it's difficult for me to even let him outside. I want to be able for him to go outside while I leave so he can go to the bathroom outside, but I can't. Now everytime I come home, or even when I'm here, he goes to the bathroom in my house! This is the first dog I've ever had and I chose him because he was already fixed, and housetrained. Does anyone know how I can get my dog to calm down?! I mean really! Antagonizing dogs that would kill him in a second!? I want to take him for walks and take him to the park. I feel this dog is just going to be confined to my house, and I can't do that. Now I'm scared to leave him because I know I'll come home to a house full of poop. He's become more of a responsibility than my kids! He's a really good dog, and very loving, he just doesn't love other dogs.

Containing/crating a dog..?

When I leave the house, I gate my big dogs (well big for me) in the kitchen where their crates are. One rescue has separation anxiety so he'll pee in his crate if I close the door, or anywhere else in the house if he's not gated. I can still expect an accident 25% of the time, but it's getting better with this method and at least he's peeing on tile. Not a great solution I realize, but I think this is a marathon and not a sprint issue

How you lose lower belly bulge, without losing your whole body fat percentage?

I am tall and fairly well proportioned with weight distribution- other than my belly. My belly is flat all they way down just beneath my belly button and then there is a bulge of fat that in comparison to the rest of my body, looks out of place. I have been insecure about it for a long time. I have researched a lot in fitness and nutrition and have learned that its possible to obtain a flat stomach - with good genes or not and its impossible to spot reduce. Does anyone have any advice on how to lose that lower belly bulge and love handles without losing the rest of your body? Thanks.

How can I avoid bringing bugs into new apartment?

A few months ago I discovered a roach problem in my bathroom (after new management company discontinued pest control) and had the place fumigated. Housebreaking puppy questions?

I'm getting a puppy golden retriever in a month and just wanted to get some advice from people who own dogs. During the night, I'm going to leave the crate door open, and have baby gates around the kitchen so he has access to his crate and the potty pad so he doesn't have to hold his pee and he learns not to pee in the crate. I will be home mostly everyday, so on those days I will encourage him to go outside, but if I step out I will put him back into his confined kitchen area with his crate and pad. The pad is only to be used at night and in the day when I'm not home so that he doesn't make a mess and doesn't have to hold it in. My only concern is that he doesn't learn to go outside if he uses the pad. I was just wondering if any of you have pad trained your puppies and how they transitioned to going outside? Also, do my methods seem ok?

Wheelchair user weight loss?

I have gotten a bit 'chubby' recently and want to do something about it. I am confined to a wheelchair because of a neuro muscular disorder I was born with, so I am limited in what I can do for exercise. I have no mobility in my legs and good (but less than the average person) upper-body strength. Staying a healthy weight is important to me, so I can have what little independance I can. What can I do at home to lose some weight? I am dieting, I just want to know if there are some exercise I could do at home. Please, no trolling.

Kook is someone who is crazy or expresses crazy ideas, as opposed to a freak, which is just your standard hippie. Melvin and Moby I have no clue about. (Those are from the 1870s whaling trade?). Punk in the 70s was different than the punk in the 50s-early60s. Punk in the 70s means a peculiar kind of hippie that had hair spray-painted in multiple colors and sticking out everywhere, along with tatoos and maybe a body piercing as well. Punk Rock was the music they liked. Razz means to tease, and i think that is a hold-over from the 50s and 60s. Stoked means replete with plentiful drugs, especially MJ, Stoned means spaced out on drugs, usually MJ but sometimes other drugs as well. Can I move the kittens to my mom's house? ?

My cat just had kittens about a 2 weeks ago. They're still tiny, and their eyes JUST opened the other day. The problem now is, I have to go out of town for a week and live by myself. Is it at all possible to move the kittens to my mom's house, or is that dangerous? Up there, she will be confined to one room, and my mom has 2 cats that mine doesn't know at all. It's really starting to sound like a bad idea, especially because I've heard that when you put mothers in situations like that will kill their kittens, but I really don't have any other feasible options for the kittens. My dog killed a kitten?

I have a rescue dog, Had it for nearly two years now. We ended up with it as originally we fostered it for a friend who runs a rescue centre till it could be sent to the RSPCA to be re-homed. The dog hates being confined anywhere, which is why we took it. It was being kept in a centre and was driving them crazy barking all the time. Well, the dog went to the rspca who kept it confined (they were supposed to be sending to a foster home) which made it play up and they said it cant be re-homed and must be put down. We told them we would take it back rather than put it down, and so have had it since. The dog is a bit of an escape artist, jumps high fences, slips his lead/collar/harness and runs amok in general. It dislikes other dos, HATES cats (we have some) and if it sees any animal smaller than itself turns into a bully.It escaped off its coller and chain last night (during the day it stays out back on a chain as it escapes otherwise) and ran to our neighbors farm (over the road) my hubby went after it, went into their yard and noticed a small kennel with kittens. He closed the door, but left it open a bit in case the mother came back. Our dog ran past, saw the kittens pulled them all out shook, 2 of them, then killed the 3rd. My hubby tried to get him off the kitten, but every-time he went near, the dog snapped at him. He eventually managed to get his lead on and dragged him off (too late for the poor kitten though). We are at our wits end now. We cant keep the dog indoors because of our cats plus young children, and the dogs hate being confined in a room. We cant confine this dog as it will escape (our other dog does not) and as we live in a farming community, if it goes near or harasses any other animals, it will probably end up shot. I think we should get shot asap, hubby wants to try and train the dog, but is busy on a farm and does not really have the time. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions? Thank you

My son plays SAY basketball and he gets very competitive. Last week for a tournament he went back down to 11u (he's ten but normally he plays 13U) ANYWAYS he was scoring at will most of the first half but in the 4TH they started to face gaurd him and even ran a box and 1..so all he could do was pass. SO they end up losing by 7.. my son is crying so hard and I haven't seen him cry in years. My husband carried him out the gym it was very sad. Made me ask this question to myself. However at the same time I noticed how Everyone was trying to comfort my son. Even the opposing cheerleaders were saying "sweet its ok #10 atleast you're still cuter than them" etc. All his original 13u teammates were picking him up and hugging/comforting him. My ex fiancee and I were together for six years and we have a ten month old daughter together. Tuesday and today I have texted him a couple times but he won't respond.....I asked him if I should just move on forget about us and he won't respond. I know he is getting my texts bc he is still talking to his mom, but I am starting to become heartbroken. Our break up came up around the same time he was texting this woman a lot. I asked him to stop but he said it was nothing and I didn't need to worry about it. Since we left before I made it where I can't see who is he talking to he is still texting that woman constantly. I took him off my account so I wouldn't obsess. I said I would give him space bc before I left I asked him after a couple months if we could reconcile and he kept saying he didn't know, wasn't sure of what the future held and he wasn't making any promises. To not talk to him for a day is killing me, and his lack of response hurts even more. My question is why he is not responding, could he have moved on already with this woman or is his lack of response bc he is doing no contact to try and move on? I talked to his mom and she said since the split he has called a couple times crying about it, but I dont know if it's only over our daughter or also me. I am confused bc he made it seem like this was the end, that we would no longer be together and that we could still be good parents to our daughter separately. How to tone up love handles and thighs FAST?

I'm leaving to Europe in 6 days, and today while i was shopping i noticed i put on plenty of weight over summer vacation. I usually always had a problem with love handles and i can never get rid of them. I'm a very insecure 15 year old who just wants to look good and feel good. I also have always had HUGE theighs and i'm really insecure about my body. To be honest, it's hard to find a diet for me that works because as a teen i want to consume the junk foods and stuff like that. But i'm lazy to work it off. I am a person that's committed to anything, if i set my mind to it. What's the QUICKEST way i can get my love handles, thighs, and kinda my butt toned up before i leave for my trip to Europe? Please, Please, Please help.

Are there any health issues from emf from high voltage power lines?

My partner has had chronic pain problems for years and they seem to have started when she worked near a field of high voltage power pylons. Although she no longer works there the problems seem to have persisted as we also have a mains terminal post twenty feet from our bedroom from which pigeons drop D.O.A on a regular basis(not a bad thing). I believe that high voltage AC generates an electromagnetic field and I wondered whether this can cause problems with the nervous system. My partner has an immune system related illness and is stuck at home. Would she be more likely to be affected than someone without these problems and who is not confined to home? Any sensible comments would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Hello All. I have been dating this girl for 3 months now and I really like her. I am at the point where I am falling in love with her. Here is the problem I think. At the end of every text I send her I say have a great day and I will be thinking of you. Well, when she responds to my text she never says I am thinking of you too. She does say it once in a great while and what I mean by that is once every 2 or 3 weeks but not all of the time. I want to know is it just me am I crazy. Does this mean she is not into me as much as I am into her. I also always call her baby, honey and sweetie but she never says those words to me. Do I have a small bra size?

ok I know I do have a very small bra size, but I don't know, maybe it suits my body? sometimes it makes me feel really insecure. I'm 16 and only a 34a. but I am really skinny (my friends joke about it), I'm 5'4" and weigh 102 pounds. I think all the girls in my class have a bigger size than me. but there is a few guys I know who have liked me and one of them even called me hot lol.. even though I don't always think so. Mother is confining me this summer?

My mother is confining me to the house the WHOLE summer. She won't let me hang out with my friends or enjoy doing anything outside. She just wants me to practice the piano the whole time. I've talked to her about it, but she keeps saying "Oh, I love you and that's why I want you to practice the piano". It's my summer though, I should be able to enjoy being a kid, but instead I'm just confined to this house either doing nothing or playing the piano. But at the same time I HAVE to agree with her and I don't want her to rage... Ughh. How can I stay sane?

I've been with my partner almost 18months.. We get on great, are starting to plan moving in together in the next couple of months and things are going well.. He has two children, and still see's the mother of his daughter.. They text sometimes, but only when it's to do with their child, and they have an amicable relationship.. I know that they only still communicate because of the daughter, but I can't help getting a knot in my stomach about it.. I feel very insecure about it and any other women. Would i make a good bunny owner?

well im 17 years old and i work about 6-8 hours a day. i have a brother 13 and a dog. but they are both good with animals i recently owned two guinea pigs that i had to give away because i didnt have time for them but the only reason i didnt have time was because you cant just let them out of their cage to wonder about the home cause they get lost and die but my aunt and several people i know have had house bunnys that freeroamed. i dont really like cleaning up too many messes an accident here or there is ok. i want an affectionate pet so thats why i want a bunny. i would bunny proof my house before i got the bunny and it would be confined to my room in a little hutch while i was at work until it got used to being around the house soo should i own a bunny

Desperate lady needs input on her kitty-care...?

Everyone out there reading this, bear with me...I am beside myself on this & have many, many years of experience w/felines but this one is for the ages and & need some input from those of you out there who may have something productive to share. (Please, no idiot responses b/c this is serious = thanks). ...I'll try to make this brief...Last Sept. a stray female feline wondered up to property. She was very, very thin, young (prob 1 yr. old now) and had swollen teats. I knew she had kittens somewhere. I fed the poor starving animal b/c she was eating out of my trash can! Yep, feed a stray, they stay. Kept her as outdoor kitty. Have 3 car garage, heated in winter & doggy-door that cat was trained to use. Have food/water bowls & bed. Cat is a good, sweet, loving thing & a good mouser. She got pregnant again ( :-o ) & gave birth to 5 beautiful, healthy kittens. Gave all kittens away @ 8 wk. mark. Made plans for spaying. Financial times b tough so found one who'd do on the cheap. (it included all shots = we were thrilled @ the $65 quote!) Had to wait 3 wks. after last nursing of kittens & @ that 3 wk. mark, "Riley" went in to be spayed. Now, we were warned about this vet being known as a "butcher" and that a lot of folk around these parts usually has ended up w/dead pets after he gets hold of them. I was worried & concerned but again, times b tough; had to risk it. Riley went in on 5/23. Picked her up 5/24. Yep, she was "butched" & butched BIG time. I set about spoiling her & kept her confined for 3 days. On 5/31 @ 2:15pm, I found my little Riley-girl laying out in my driveway w/her guts lying outside of her body cavity. She was still alive! I ran to her, scooped her up w/guts in other hand. Put her in her carrier cage, sped off vet - HAD to use same one - what other choice did I have? (He ended up duping us & charged $125 for the spaying/shot deal - who's da sucker now folks?!) I have been traumatized, hysterical, depressed, worried & guilt to the 10th degree over all of this folks. ....still cannot get the image of poor little Riley out in driveway w/guts hanging out & believe me when I tell you that I am a "tough bird" when it comes to things...(No wuss is Miss Joy!) Vet nvr. sanitized hands or table, nvr. cleansed her innards. (I know b/c I stayed & witnessed it all). Shoved 'em back in & stitched. Filled her w/antibiotics, kept her for 2 days then sent her home w/me having to do wound care for 10 days & an antibiotic pill x2 a day. Vet said only 1 in 100 survive this sort of thing. Cat got constipated b/c of meds. Had to take her off for 2 days to soften bowels. Wound came open AGAIN 2 days ago. Rushed her back, this time he DID re-open her, cleansed everything, put her back together & I brought her home ystrday afternoon. She was full of infection & wound came open b/c she is so eaten up w/infection that her skin had begun to rot. It is amazing to me that this poor, innocent, sweet & loving animal has survived all of this (Me too!) and she'll drink fresh water, eats very, very, VERY little. Actually wretches @ smell of canned cat food. Will lick juices of pork fat ( to help w/bowels?) chicken noodle soup juices and kitten formula. Blessed little thing will even use litter box I've set up for her while she's on "lock-down". Vet sent me home this last time w/a spray for wound care called "Vetericyn" that cost us $30 for 4 oz. We gladly pd. him for it as the sucker did not charge us for the last two "episodes" (which he shouldn't have = bung hole) ...sorry... I have to spray her wound x4 a day & back on antibiotic pill x2 a day. I seriously need to bathe her as the infection "juices" that had been dripping & dripping out of her is all over her lower abdomen, legs, etc. I need to wait @ least 3 days to allow the fresh wound (surgical site) to seal before I make that attempt. What I need from anyone of you out there reading this is this: What can I do to help poor little Riley to eat & keep up her strength & health? Please, I am desperate. I care deeply about this animal and she did not deserve this happy-crappy & all that she's now gone through & I'm betting this kitty has used 5 of her 9 lives on all of this by now. (?!) (sigh & sniff) I feel so guilty & responsible and if she's still living after all of this, well then; Miss Joy ain't throwing in the towel either! Please, please, please - I am begging for ideas to get Miss Kitty to eat. Thanks for reading this folks. I have a good little cry each & everyday now for this animal...

Why do I feel so insecure about my girlfriend's ex's?

Every time I think of my grilfriend and her ex's it churns me up inside...does anyone elso feel this way? Whenever she (occassionally) mentions one of them my stomach drops and I feel panicky, even though it's just a harmless comment. I hate talking about her past, even though I trust her completely. She is lovely and considerate and doesn't mention them to be hurtful, just in passing. I know she loves me very much, but for some reason I still feel a lot of anxiety around this whole subject. I have ended relationships in the past due to this issue becoming too overwhelming. Why do I feel like this and what can I do to stop (or at least minimise) it??

Ideas on how to raise money for my best friend?

Hi guys! I need some help/ideas. My best friend suffers from a muscular/ nerve disease that is similar to ALS, this means his muscles are slowly atrophying and has confined him to a power chair almost all of the time. Due to recent changes in his condition however he now has to use his power chair 24/7, which also means inside his house as well. Unfortunately, his wheelchair will not fit through his bedroom door and he does not have a handicap bathroom. His condition will keep progressing, and his family needs major donations to remodel his bedroom and bathroom so it gives him freedom to be independent. I need ideas for fundraising for his remodel, any ideas are welcome and will be considered. Thanks!

How can I entertain a 6 year old boy?

All he wants to do is either play games or jump on the trampoline, and I am perfectly fine with that but then he randomly goes upstairs and annoys anyone up there! I tell him stay downstairs but I hate confining something with so much energy to one room. I can't get him to play imaginative games or do crafts or anything because he only wants those two things!
